The focus of this programme is not simply on memorising formulas or completing large numbers of worksheets.
Instead, the programme helps children gradually develop real mathematical thinking before entering Primary school.
The class also uses a bilingual teaching approach in Chinese and English. Important Math vocabulary is explained in both languages, helping children understand not only how to calculate, but also what the question is asking.

What Will Children Learn in the K2–P1 Transition Class?
Build Number Sense and Addition & Subtraction Skills Within 100
Children are guided to understand the relationship between numbers instead of simply memorising answers. They will gradually build a stronger foundation in number sense and addition and subtraction within 100.
Understand Addition & Subtraction Word Problems
Some children can calculate well, but may struggle when the same Math concept appears in a word problem. The class helps children understand the situation described in the question before deciding which operation to use.
Learn Multiplication & Division Through Grouping and Sharing
Before children begin memorising multiplication tables, they are introduced to the ideas of Grouping and Sharing. This helps them understand what multiplication and division actually mean, rather than relying only on memorisation.
